Only the best quality buffalo horn from India. All our horn is hand selected, cured and dried. Nothing makes a more beautiful, durable handle. Each piece has its own variations and unique characteristics to make your handle “one of a kind”. Sands, grinds and polishes easily. White rouge on a soft muslin wheel brings out its natural luster and shine. Available in various styles, colorations and textures. Buffalo horn is curved in nature and will always want to return to its natural state. Although carefully cured and dried you should expect some curving / warping. This is normal and the product cannot be returned We recommend wrapping it in a warm damp cloth and setting it in a vise.

Sambar Stag is well known for its beauty and excellent density for handle material. Genuine Sambar Stag is difficult to obtain but well worth the effort for one of a kind knife handle. As a natural material, each piece is unique. When worked down, a solid, white, surface is obtained which is perfect for carving and scrimshaw. Work gently to maintain the texture and color of the natural material.

Crowns

Amber

Extremely solid, without pith, just a small vein hole in the center. Good color and texture. When worked down it gives a good solid white surface, the perfect choice for carving and scrimshaw. Length of Crowns are 5” to 6”. Length of Rounds are 4-1/2” to 5”.

Merino Horn Tip

Stag Carved Buffalo Horn

Works well for small to medium size hidden tang knives. The tines may have minor scratches from the axis deer rubbing his antlers on thorn bushes. Scratches can easily be removed by fine sanding and polishing.
